AppCleaner junk cleaner for Windows PC
I downloaded and installed AppCleaner. The download is available as an installer or as a portable tool too. The UI is simple and easy to understand. There are 3 tabs, Cleaner, Tools and Options. The cleaning options which it offered were pretty exhaustive. Under the Cleaner tab, you are further offered four tabs – Apps, Browsers, Registry, and Windows. Under these tabs, neatly classified, AppCleaners offers to clean up Temporary file cache, history, cookies, download history, login data, forms data, for Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. It also helps clean up any third-party software – the definitions of which are updated very frequently. The Registry Cleaner offers to back up your Registry before carrying out the cleaning exercise. Click on the Analyse button to find out all the junk files, Clicking on Clean will quickly delete all the junk files. AppCleaner also comes with free tools that let you manage system restore points, manage installed software as it includes an Uninstaller, and manage start-up entries with the Startup Manager. You can also Wipe free space with different deletion methods to choose from. The cleaning options being offered are many. Don’t simply Select all. Instead the first time, I urge you to go through each one of them carefully and select the ones you want and save these options. And remember, it is always a good practice to manually create a system restore point first, before making any changes to your operating system. Today the standard against which free Cleaners are invariably compared is CCleaner. I have to say that with the options being offered by AppCleaner 2.0, it could well be a strong contender for the #1 position. You can download AppCleaner from its home page. Check it out and let us know what you think of it.
