Windows 11 Font Settings
Right-click the Windows button on the Taskbar and select Settings from the list of options. Alternatively, you can press Win+I in combination to go to the settings directly. Select Personalization settings from the side panel on the left.
Move to the right-pane and click the Fonts tile to expand it.
When directed to a new screen, you’ll see a list of fonts under the list of the available fonts. You can use the search bar below it to search fonts by name or sort them by language.
When done, you can change the size, and see a live preview of each font face.
Windows 10 Fonts Settings
Open Settings > Personalization > Fonts. This is the new home for Fonts which lets you see all the fonts, how they look, and you can even manipulate them. When you are here, you will see:
A list of available fonts on your PC with information on the number of fonts faces for each of them.Search bar which lets you search fonts by name.Option to Sort by languages.
To see more details, tap on any of the fonts. I would suggest selecting one with at least two font faces. Here you can:
Change the size, and see a live preview of each font faces.Scroll a little, and you can choose the Font Face type you want to have on your PC.An uninstall button tells you exactly what it can do.
How to Install Fonts from Microsoft Store
If you would like to install additional fonts, simply click the Get more fonts in the Microsoft Store link.
Choose the desired font and download its files. You can get free as well as paid fonts.
When done, drag the files from your File Explorer or Desktop into the box below Add Fonts heading. This will install the font on your device, automatically.
How to apply Fonts to Windows PC
You would be downloading fonts in TTF and OTF formats, and currently, you cannot install Fonts via the Fonts Settings panel. You will have to paste it into the Fonts folder. Thus you cannot, at least not directly. Fonts are used by websites, apps, and many other things, and have them installed on your PC means that you can view them the same way, you were intended. You can change the size, and get a preview of font, and its different faces. I hope Microsoft can one day give a direct option to install new font right away or at least let themes use fonts installed on the machine.
Should I use Calibri or Arial?
Calibri is a modern sans serif family with subtle roundings on stems and corners. It features real italics, small caps, and multiple numeral sets. Arial on the other hand contains more humanist characteristics. Both Arial and Calibri are good to use, beautiful and elegant but Arial appears to be a little more artistic than Calibri. If your job craves creativity, then Arial is the best bet.
What are the default Windows fonts?
Calibri has been the default font for all things Microsoft since 2007 when it stepped in to replace Times New Roman across Microsoft Office. However, you can change it to the font of your liking through Windows Personalization settings.
